Farewell to the old and welcome the new, the fluctuation of high-level management accelerates

In the past two years, Chanel has experienced frequent personnel changes, and human resource management has become one of the key focuses of the group’s attention.

In 2022, Leena Nair, the CEO of the group, took office. Previously, the position of CEO of Chanel Group had been vacant for six years.

It is reported that this Asian British female executive had no previous work experience in fashion luxury brands. Prior to joining Chanel, she spent her 30-year career at Unilever Group, becoming the first woman and Asian to serve as Unilever’s Chief Human Resources Officer. She is also the youngest executive in the history of the group to hold this position.

Under her leadership, Chanel’s total number of employees has increased by 14% to 36500 over the past year, with the majority being digital, IT, and sustainability related talents.

Regarding Chanel’s long-term development, Leena Nair stated that as the business size approaches the $20 billion mark, the brand needs new talent and strategy. In the future, within the basic framework, the brand will create more surprising works and activities, continue to expand its sales network, enhance customer experience, and invest in employees to maintain a long-term vision.

Recently, Chanel has appointed Zoe Michel as the new Head of Content Planning for the Department of Influence and Brand Engagement. In her new position, Zoe Michel will lead the brand’s content work, with a focus on innovation and consumer engagement.
